The draft for comments proposes that by 2025, the annual output value of the energy electronics industry will reach RMB 3 trillion, and the comprehensive strength will enter the ranks of the world's advanced. By 2030, 5G/6G, advanced computing, artificial intelligence, industrial Internet and other new generation information technologies will be widely used in the energy field, and a number of energy electronics enterprises with international leading level will be cultivated, with a sound discipline construction and personnel training system. The energy electronics industry has become a key force in the drive to achieve peak carbon neutrality.

What is energy electron?
For the first time, the Guidance also provides an official definition and scope for the energy electronics industry. Energy electronics industry is an emerging industry with a rapid development, generated after the innovation and integration of electronic information technology and new energy demand, and refers to a general term for electronic information technology and products that produce energy, serve energy and apply energy, mainly including solar photovoltaic, new energy storage batteries, key terminal applications, key information technology and products (Guang Chu Duan Xin) and other fields.
Specifically, this document gives a clear definition of "key information technology products for the field of new energy", mainly including power electronics, flexible electronics, sensing IOT, smart energy information systems and related advanced computing, industrial software, transmission communication, industrial robots and other adaptive technologies and products to meet the needs of new energy; It puts forward the supply capacity improvement of the key information technology product of energy electronics, involving 6 specific subdivisions: Optoelectronic devices (high-speed optical communication chips, etc.), power semiconductor devices (IGBT, SiC, GaN, etc.), sensitive components and sensing devices (new MEMS sensors, etc.), light-emitting diodes, advanced computing and systems, data monitoring and operation analysis systems.
Of course, the "Guidance" also proposed to speed up the promotion of power semiconductor devices for photovoltaic power generation, wind power generation, power transmission, new energy vehicles, and rail transit. Today, IGBTs in power semiconductors are the core components for energy conversion and transmission, and are widely used in new energy vehicles, photovoltaic power generation, industrial control, smart grids and rail transit.
The SiC (silicon carbide) penetration has also gradually accelerated. In addition to the new energy vehicle industry chain that has begun to carry SiC parts early, from the recent statements of Roshow Technology, Jinlang Technology, Xinjie Energy and other companies, the photovoltaic industry has also begun to increase the application of SiC.
On the other hand, for key terminal applications, the "Guidance" proposed to accelerate the application of energy electronic technology and products in industry, communications, energy, transportation, agriculture and other fields. Including: Accelerating the promotion of power semiconductor devices for photovoltaic power generation, wind power generation, power transmission, new energy vehicles, and rail transit; Improve the level of LED technology with long life and high efficiency, and promote the application of new semiconductor lighting products in smart cities, smart homes and other fields; Improve the application level of energy electronic products in new infrastructure fields such as 5G base stations and new energy vehicle charging piles; We will explore and develop the construction of smart energy systems, smart microgrids, and virtual power plants that integrate energy grid load and storage and complement with multiple energies.

In addition, for the energy storage industry chain, the deployment of the "Guidance" is not limited to new batteries and technologies, but also covers upstream resource supply, carbon emission management and other content. In terms of technology, it involves polymer lithium-ion batteries, all-climate batteries, solid-state batteries, flow batteries, hydrogen energy storage/fuel cells and other new batteries, battery system integration, detection, evaluation and recycling, as well as intelligent early warning security of energy storage systems.
As we all know, the global sales of new energy vehicles are growing rapidly. It is expected that the global sales of new energy vehicles will exceed 9.9 million in 2022, an increase of 46%, and the sales volume of the Chinese market will exceed 5.5 million, an increase of 56%. It is expected that global/China new energy vehicle sales will maintain more than 20% annual compound growth in the next three years. This alone can bring strong growth guarantees to the above related industries.
